Information for Summer Youth Summer Camp Program Positions

C.I.T. TRAINING PROGRAM
This year, we are beginning a new approach to the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program for our summer playground camps in order to provide a higher quality of training.  If you are, entering 8th, 9th or 10th grade, you are eligible to participate in our summer CIT program.  If you were a CIT last year, and are entering 10th grade or younger, we encourage you to participate in this new training, which will increase your skills and readiness to be a counselor.  There will be two programs sessions, each for 2 weeks from 9am to 12pm as follows:
•       Learn and practice the skills needed to become successful counselors.
•       Learn about child development and group dynamics.
•       Gain leadership and activity planning skills
•       Have fun!
Session 1:  July 1-12 (no camp on July 4)   
Session 2:  July 15-26

Anyone who has successfully completed their training will be invited to volunteer for the final week of camp.
Cost is $100 per session or $150 for both sessions  
The deadline for applications is Friday, June 7th


JR. COUNSELOR
This is a volunteer (unpaid) position designed for applicants entering Grades 10th and above who have been CIT’s in the past.  The position works directly with counselors and assigned groups and may be asked to lead a group activity or assume additional responsibilities.
Jr. Counselors are asked to make a minimum of a 2-week commitment (2 full weeks) to the 5-week program.
The deadline for applications is Friday, June 7th
