AREA: 72 miles of Niskayuna streets and roads are maintained by 32 employees using 12 large trucks and several other pieces of specialized equipment.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Snow and ice control, paving and maintenance of roads, signs and roadway marking, road drainage, tree and brush cutting.
RELATED SERVICES: Sidewalk plowing of State routes 5, 7, and 146 (State Street, Troy Road, and Balltown Road) is done by the Town, but the roadways themselves are maintained and plowed by State crews. The County Highway Department maintains the County roads that traverse the Town: Aqueduct Road, Consaul Road, Dean Street, Lishakill Road, Mohawk Road, Nott Street west of Balltown Road, Pearse Road, Providence Avenue, River Road, Rosendale Road, St. David's Lane, Taurus Road, Union Street, and Van Antwerp Road.
