Yard Waste Pickup

Please note: Yard waste containers are to be placed at curbside NO MORE THAN 24 HOURS in advance of pickup schedule.
Starting April 7, 2008
Highway trucks will circulate the town, picking up yard waste when they see it in proper containers at the curb (maximum capacity 32 gallon cans or barrels or bags weighing no more than 40 lbs.). Cans and barrels must have Yard Waste Labels, available at Town Hall, Transfer Station, Highway Garage and the Community Center. Branches and brush - not to exceed 3 inches in diameter and 3 feet in length - must be bundled and tied with biodegradable twine (no wire).
Please do not include garbage, rocks, sod, dirt or metal in your yard waste.
Biodegradable yard waste bags are no longer sold at Town Hall, but may be purchased at most hardware or grocery stores.
Do not use Plastic Bags. They will not be picked up.
Please remove your empty containers from the curb once the yard waste has been picked up.

Balltown Road from Consaul Road to Rte. 7, Hexam Garden, Oakmont Estates, Hummingbird Manor, the west side of St. David's Lane and the north side of Consaul Road will now be in Zone 3 and your scheduled pick day will be on Wednesdays. See Zone Map

Yard waste containers are to be placed at curbside NO MORE THAN 24 HOURS in advance of pickup schedule
All containers used for private collection of garbage, rubbish, refuse, and recyclables must be placed at the curb no earlier than 6:00 a.m. on the day prior to the day of collection, and shall be removed from the curb no later that 6:00 p.m. on the day following collection day.
Don't place basketball, soccer equipment, etc in the street or right-of-way (17' from road). The Highway Department has the right to remove these items at the owner's expense.
Do keep grass clippings out of the street to avoid clogging the storm drain.
Do pick up after your dog.
