DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To plan, oversee, and coordinate the municipal parks and recreation programs. To promote the parks and recreation activities and to insure maximum efficiency and use of playgrounds, parks, pool, and other recreation facilities. Assures that physical facilities are kept clean and in good repair at all times.
FACILITIES: River Road Park, Blatnick Park, Avon Crest Town Park, Aqueduct Park, Riverfront hike and bike trail. There are pavilions for rental at River Road Park, Blatnick Park, and Avon Crest Town Park. There is a golf driving range just south of Blatnick Park (enter at Recycling Center).
SPECIAL PROGRAMS: Town Band concerts, some by the Niskayuna Town Band; adult softball and basketball, fishing contest, summer theater, summer enrichment program, and Learn-to-Swim and golf (driving) lessons.
