AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF NISKAYUNA DULY CALLED AND HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2008 AT THE NISKAYUNA TOWN OFFICE BUILDING, ONE NISKAYUNA CIRCLE, NISKAYUNA, NEW YORK, THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS WERE PRESENT:

JULIE McDONNELL, COUNCILWOMAN
MARIE P. FREUND, COUNCILWOMAN
DIANE P. O’DONNELL, COUNCILWOMAN
LIZ ORZEL KASPER, COUNCILWOMAN
JOE LANDRY, SUPERVISOR

Others present:  Barbara Nottke, Deputy Town Clerk; Eric Dickson, Town Attorney; Frank Cannizzo, Assistant Director of Recreation; Matthew Yetto, Junior Engineer; Kathleen Gansfuss, Director of Recreation; Paul Sebesta, Comptroller; and Lew Moskowitz, Chief of Police.

PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR
Frank Cannizzo, Niskayuna Recreation Department, informed the Board that they will be holding soccer this Saturday.

RESOLUTIONS
The following resolutions were approved with a vote of five ayes unless otherwise noted.
Resolution 2008-178 takes action to employ additional persons in the Recreation Program.  Councilwoman McDonnell stated that these are recreation attendants that will be refereeing the fall soccer program.  Regarding cancelling soccer due to bad weather, Supervisor Landry stated that it is a subjective call.  It is an eight week program with only one day of make-ups which becomes an issue with more rain-out days.  The Town has the ability to email everyone in the program and Kathleen Gansfuss will monitor the weather.

Resolution 2008-179 declares September 11, 2008 as a day of remembrance in the Town of Niskayuna and called for a moment of silence.

There being no further business to come before the Town Board, Supervisor Landry adjourned the meeting.

                                        Barbara Nottke, Deputy Town Clerk
