NISKAYUNA PROMOTES ACCESS TO NATURE TRAILS
Trail Development Sub-Committee Created
Niskayuna, New York – A new Sub- Committee for Trail Development has been formed by the Town to make recommendations for preserving and enhancing Niskayuna’s trail system. “There are many existing walking and hiking trails in our Town and this knowledgeable group will make recommendations so that residents can further enjoy recreational activities in the natural environment,” stated Councilwoman Julie McDonnell, Chair of the Education, Parks and Recreation Committee.
The group will be chaired by John F. Brown Jr., a recognized long- time advocate for nature trail development within Niskayuna. “Mr. Brown came to the Parks Committee meeting with great ideas, a lot of energy and an impressive knowledge of the geography and history of every inch of land in Niskayuna,” stated McDonnell.
“We are fortunate to have very talented residents who are willing to volunteer their time and energy, and we are happy to use those talents to help all of our residents”, said Niskayuna Town Supervisor Joe Landry. “I would like to thank all members of this Subcommittee and we look forward to their recommendations,” continued Landry.
