Girl Scouts to help local food pantries

The Girl Scouts of Niskayuna will be celebrating Girl Scouting and the great outdoors by building a campfire out of cans of food, all of which will be donated to local food pantries to help fight hunger here in the Capital District.

Girl Scouts of Northeast NY are participating in a Can Do Project at the Empire State Plaza in Albany on January 13, 2018.  Each group is given a 5’ x 5’ x 4’ area to build a structure with donated cans of food.  Afterwards, the structures will remain on display for the weekend and then dismantled and delivered to food pantries in the Capital District.

Residents are welcome to show their support to Girl Scouting and the community by donating cans of food and/or attending the Can Do Build on January 13th.  The Town of Niskayuna will have a collection box in its lobby until January 10th.  Click on the link below to see the flier for additional details.
