Moose spotted in Niskayuna

The office of the Chief of Police has authorized the release of the following information.  

On Friday May 6th, 2022 the Niskayuna Police Department was made aware of a moose sighting in the area of Hillside Ave near Providence Ave. While moose are not generally aggressive towards people, we would like to take a moment to remind the public of some safety tips:

  • Please do not feed wild animals, and keep your trash cans secured if possible.
  • Do not attempt to approach the moose.
  • If the moose has not detected you, keep as much distance away from it as possible.
