Supervisor’s Statement on the Withdrawal of the Application for the Proposed Rezoning of 1360 Balltown Road/1351 Van Antwerp Road Area

Niskayuna BR Holding LLC on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 withdrew its application for a rezoning of the above listed parcel

“I am glad to see the developer has withdrawn this request for re-zoning.  Upon review of the original proposal, and hearing the input from the affected residents, I was not in support of the project as proposed,” stated Niskayuna Town Supervisor Joe Landry. 

“Throughout this process, we have seen our community come together and engage in a heartfelt discussion of what makes Niskayuna such a special place to live, work, and raise a family.  I am pleased to see the developer listened to the concerns of our residents, and is planning to engage in future discussions with these residents about how any changes to this parcel will fit within the character of our Town,” continued Supervisor Landry.

Since there is no pending application before the Town, the public hearing scheduled for tomorrow will not take place.  However, the “Privilege of the Floor” item will still be on the agenda, which would allow the public to share their thoughts on this and other issues impacting our community.
