Today, Town Supervisor Joe Landry, Town Boardmembers Denise Murphy McGraw, John Della Ratta, and Bill McPartlon, Coordinator of Community Programs Lori Peretti, and Deputy Superintendent of Water/Sewer Matt Yetto broke ground on the site of the new Niskayuna Splash Pad. This improvement continues the Town’s work on its 2015 Town Parks Master Plan. Blatnick Park is utilized by Niskayuna Baseball, Niskayuna Lacrosse, Niskayuna Women’s Tennis Association and our Town Summer Playground Program. The Town’s Playground program alone serves over 200 children. This park is also the home of the Niskayuna Dog Park, Disc Golf Course, and Driving Range.
The Town is working with Brett Steenburgh Engineering and Vortex, an award-winning splash park manufacturing company. Additionally, the Town has been awarded a grant, through Niskayuna Community Foundation (NCF), in the amount of $3,000.00 to cover the costs of the purchase and installation of benches at the Town’s splash pad site.
