Town Supervisor Yasmine Syed announced the closure of Town Hall and other Town facilities to the public, effective March 15, 2020, as part of an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Niskayuna. The Supervisor has outlined additional protective measures implemented in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Following guidance from state and federal health officials for reducing the spread of COVID-19, Town-owned facilities are closed to the public. Essential services will still be available through alternative means, including by phone, mail and online. Additionally, we are instituting changes for various non-essential Town services. These actions are being taken as part of our ongoing commitment to protect the health of employees and the general public and to comply with the mandates set forth in Executive Order No. 202.4, requiring local governments to allow “no less than fifty-percent (50%) of the total number of employees” performing non-essential services “to be able to work from home or take leave without charging accruals.”
