Mohawk-Hudson Bike Hike Trail

The Mohawk-Hudson Bike Hike Trail provides a unique recreational opportunity for all to enjoy. This paved trail, approximately 35 miles in length, is constructed on the original Erie Canal Towpath and former railroad grades that formed the original transportation routes in the area. The path is open to all for bicycling, walking / running, and inline skating.

Rules of the Trail:
-Extend courtesy to all trail users
-Bicyclists must yield to pedestrians
-When passing, use a bell, horn or announce passing on your left
-Yield to oncoming and passing traffic when riding side by side
-Use caution at road intersections
-Dogs are allowed only on certain sections of the path
-Dogs must be leashed at all times
-Please pick up after your dog, or be subject to a fine
-Helmets are encouraged for all bicyclists and skaters
-Helmets are mandatory for those under the age of 14 - violators are subject to a $50 fine.
