Special Notice Regarding Senior Center Activities and Programs (posted 3/30/20):
The Niskayuna Senior Center is closed through May 15 as a safety precaution to protect our seniors from the potential spread of the coronavirus. Depending on recommendations from the County and State Health Departments and the CDC, the Senior Center will reopen at a later date. While we have no confirmed cases of coronavirus connected to the Senior Center, this closure is a preventative measure taken out of an abundance of caution.
Senior Center staff will be working to assist seniors who use our Senior Bus for personal transportation to regular medical appointments and grocery shopping. The bus will continue to operate Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-3 to provide this service.
Staff can be reached at the Senior Center phone line 518-372-4969. Seniors who are in need of assistance connecting to local services not offered by the Niskayuna Senior Center, please call us and we will make every effort to connect you to the appropriate organization.
The Bus Driver will continue to be reached on the bus phone at 518-495-6202 to schedule transportation.
The Senior Center is taking donations of masks, homemade and prepackaged, to distribute to seniors in need of masks. Call 518-372-4969 to make a donation or to make a request for a mask if you are in need of one.To learn more from the CDC about how to properly wear a facemask or how to make your own face covering click HERE.
