Parks
Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo plan, oversee, and coordinate the municipal parks and recreation programs. To promote the parks and recreation activities and to insure maximum efficiency and use of playgrounds, parks, pool, and other recreation facilities. Assures that physical facilities are kept clean and in good repair at all times.
FacilitiesRiver Road Park, Blatnick Park, Avon Crest Town Park, Aqueduct Park, Riverfront hike and bike trail. There are pavilions for rental at River Road Park, Blatnick Park, the Community Center, and Avon Crest Town Park.
There is a golf driving range just south of Blatnick Park (enter at Recycling Center). Organizations who wish to use our any of our Park facilities or fields for reserved organized activities (including but not limited to league play, tournaments, training programs, etc.) can reach out to Julie Lohre at (518) 386-4504 to check availability and fee structures.
Please note: Lock 7 Park is operated by NYS Canal Corp, for information on closures, boat launches, and canal services please go to https://www.canals.ny.gov/ or call the Albany Division office at 518-449-6036.
Special ProgramsTown Band concerts, Easter Parade, Halloween Parade, Annual Tree Lighting, Adult Basketball and Learn-to-Swim and golf (driving) lessons.
